A series of five pond bays extend over a roughly 400m east-west stretch of the Rills Valley, south of Castleton house (Nprn18257) set on the slopes above.
I. The eaternmost pond bay is about 60m north to south, & its dam is centrally breached;
II. About 195m to the west of Pond I, measuring about 46m north-to south;
III. About 55m to the west of Pond II, measuring about 40m north to south, its dam centrally breached;
IV. About 52m to the west of Pond III, measuring about 35m north to south;
V. About 68m to the west of Pond IV, measuring about 23.5m north to south, possibly truncated on the south.
