DisgrifiadA small development of 6 houses by the Cardiff architects, Thomas Glyn Jones & John R. Evans, completed in two phases 1968 & 1973. The design is modernist, with American and Scandinavian references, and the principal visual material is rugged concrete, apparently regarded by the architects as a reference to the Welsh landscape. This landscaped American style development won several awards: Welsh Office Housing Medel (1968); Concrete Society Award (1969); gold medal in architecture at the Haverfordwest Eisteddfod (1972). No. 6 became the home of the architect and was furnished by him. The list description by Judith Alfrey provides a very full account of Little Orchard.
