Part of Stepaside Ironworks, (nprn 40500), the workshops, known as 'The Platform', consist of a long multi-purpose building formerly served by a tramway, and include a fitters' shop and lathe room, smiths' shop, carpenters' shop, sawmill, and a pattern room. Built c.1846, the building has two storeys, with stone rubble walls with ashlar dressings.
