DisgrifiadThe present Amlwch Lighthouse is a square tower with battered walls that was erected in 1853. Its fine ashlar masonry remains to a height of 15ft above which a lantern of uncertain date has been added. This replaced a lighthouse built in 1817 on a pier constructed in 1816 which in turn replaced two earlier octagonal houses with small lanterns in the roof that were constructed on two piers built following a private Act of Parliament in 1793.
