DisgrifiadThe site is depicted on all three editions of the 25-inch O. S. maps, though only on the 1st edition of 1889 is it titled "Shipbuilding Yard". The maps show a slipway (probably a Patent slip, with rails), with a quay on the west side and a building on the east side which was 35 metres long. The 3rd edition map of 1916 depicts a sawpit to the east of this building. By the 1950s the site was occupied by Dow-Mac, a company which made concrete railway sleepers.
