All four editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps name this site as Cuckoo Mill, but even by the 1st edition, published in 1876, it is described as being in ruins, and its purpose is not depicted. On the 3rd and 4th editions of 1916 and 1935 respectively the name survives as a placename. Parts of the former leat, which was diverted from the Afon Llan some 740 metres east-north-east of the mill site at SS 6448199626, were still shown on all editions of the maps. The site appears to have been obliterated by the building of the M4 motorway.
