The Crown Hotel is a two storey 19th century building, predominantly a cream roughcast structure with brown painted stucco dressings, and a slate roof with two chimney breast at north and south gable. Later 19th century additions are present on the western side and north gable end, noted by lower roofs flanked by dormer windows (on the 1st floor), with another chimney added at west gable. The building comprised a ground floor, including former bar areas, darts room, kitchen areas and toilets; a first floor including four guest bedrooms, bathroom and auxilliary room; including a two bedroomed managers flat located within the north wing. The exterior included cream coloured roughcast stonework, with the non-rendered elements constructed from a rubble field stones, with occasional red brick bonded together by mortar. Within the interior, original 19th century ceiling and roof beams are well preserved, alongside with late 20th century wall fittings, flooring and fixtures were mostly still intact.
